Abstract. We study a reaction-diffusion model arising from competition with internal storage in an unstirred chemostat. A conservation principle is used to reduce the dimension of the system. For the single species model, existence of a threshold diffusion coefficient is showed which determines the asymptotic dynamics. We use the subhomogeneity and monotonicity of the system to obtain its asymptotic dynamics. We also lift the dynamics of the reduced limiting system to the original full system.
